Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic artist, performer and composer. He combines jazz from the soul genre with R&B to create a unique mixture. Avery Sunshine's work has led her from Broadway to European concerts and festivals to even at the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine is the daughter of Denise White. While she is living in Atlanta now, Sunshine is originally from Chester Pennsylvania. In Chester Pennsylvania she first began her journey as a musician, singing and playing in the church in town. In Atlanta she was a student at Spellman College where her musical instruction began with the Atlanta's R&B Scene. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy and Tony Award winning vocalist who has worked on stage production Dreamgirls at the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, contacted her to be the choral leader for the production. Sunshine became famous in the performances that took place over four days in The 2008 Democratic National Convention. Sunshine went on to sing during the 2009 Obama Inauguration.
