Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell, an American TV chef and former Institute of Culinary Education instructor She is also a television personality. Burrell hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef, with her trademark spiky blond locks and pumped up appearance, offers simple techniques that any person can master. Chef Burrell is also a part of several of the city's most prestigious restaurants, has been studying the Italian food and culture as well as was a contestant on Food Network's Iron Chef America. Burrell is a native of the Upstate and grew up within New York State's Upstate, discovered a love of cooking. Her passion was for food and restaurant by enroling in The Culinary Institute of America following the completion of a bachelor's degree in English and Communication from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. She says "I enjoyed being a Culinary Institute of America student. I enjoyed every moment." I couldn't seem to get enough enjoyment from the experience. Following graduation, Burrell spent one year in Italy studying at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and working in the Umbrian restaurant La Taverna del Lupo as and Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, a Michelin-starred restaurant. During her time in Italy she came to appreciate and understand the philosophies behind Italian cuisine and culture which has had a profound impact on her culinary viewpoint. Burrell is a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which helps brighten the lives of children facing challenges. She is also a Juvenile diabetes research foundation Celebrity Ambassador. she is an advocate for juvenile diabetes awareness. As a speaker, she is on the road to talk about her love of food as well as her career in the culinary field. Anne in all her experience in the kitchen, has declared that it's a pleasure to have the opportunity to share this passion for life with others.
