Sasha Allen can be described as the only openly transgender performer to have been through this year's Battle Rounds of The Voice Live Shows. It has been the situation for 21 seasons. Sasha Allen and Jim Newtown, Conn. duo is now in the Top 8 of the contest! Sasha confessed that he's transgender while preparing for Blind Auditions. Blind Auditions, and he stated to Parade.com that the choice was a matter of thought and reflection. Sasha admitted that it was difficult to make a decision because he was required to showcase a sensitive side of himself public in front of millions. It was when at the age of high school. "But [last week during the fan week], watching people's reactions to and support for the show and how it's affected individuals really proved that the decision was worthwhile and an appropriate choice even though it was difficult to take." "'Have You Ever Seen the Rain' is an album that's been in the list of songs that we've been wanting to be a part of The Voice for quite a many years," Sasha told Parade.com. "We performed it long before The Voice was even a event for us. This was an incredible surprise. The track was something we were familiar with and had some ideas to arrange.
